26 LC 112 3858 House Resolution 1648 By: Representatives Tran of the 80th, Au of the 50th, Panitch of the 51st, Olaleye of the 59th, and Clark of the 108th A RESOLUTION Commending the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia and recognizing March 11,1 2026, as Vietnamese-American Community Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia (VAC-GA) is a nonprofit3 organization committed to fostering the success of Vietnamese-A mericans in Georgia by4 creating meaningful community relationships and retaining cultural traditions to provide a5 better understanding of the Vietnamese heritage; and6 WHEREAS, VAC-GA hosts various important traditional events each year to benefit the7 Vietnamese community, passes along traditions to future generations, and raises awareness8 of Vietnamese culture among other communities; and9 WHEREAS, this remarkable organization continuously provides opp ortunities to help10 members of the Vietnamese community succeed, such as the Academic Achievement Award,11 which encourages students to excel in both academics and social activities; and12 WHEREAS, VAC-GA has been dedicated to providing unparalleled service and support and13 has had a tremendous impact on the Vietnamese community; and14 H. R. 1648 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3858 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this15 extraordinary organization be appropriately recognized.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body commend the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia for18 its many outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia; recognize March 11,19 2026, as Vietnamese-American Community Day at the state capitol; and extend best wishes20 for continued growth, development, and success.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the23 Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia.24 H.
