26 LC 129 1356 House Resolution 1646 By: Representatives Roberts of the 52nd, Tran of the 80th, Lupton of the 83rd, Kendrick of the 95th, and Campbell of the 35th A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Judi Carlson for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T.1 Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Women's Legislative Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Judi Carlson is a woman of unassuming greatness whose humble acts of10 kindness and generosity have uplifted her entire community; and11 WHEREAS, Judi serves as the Director of Malachi's Storehouse, a food pantry and clothing12 closet that is an outreach ministry of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Dunwoody, Georgia;13 and14 H. R. 1646 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1356 WHEREAS, having passionately served as director for over 10 yea rs, Judi led the food15 pantry through the COVID-19 pandemic without a single week of shutdown; and16 WHEREAS, she has established a glowing reputation of renown throughout Georgia for her17 unwavering commitment to service and a deep personal desire to create spaces where18 everyone is welcome, everyone is valued, and everyone is fed; and19 WHEREAS, under her leadership, Malachi’s Storehouse continues t o be a place where20 people are not only fed, but seen, valued, and supported; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body congratulate and commend Judi Carlson for receiving the 202625 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and exten d best wishes for her26 continued success.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Judi29 Carlson.30 H.
