26 LC 39 5032 Senate Resolution 932 By: Senators Dickerson of the 21st, Dolezal of the 27th, Albers of the 56th, Gooch of the 51st and Harbison of the 15th A RESOLUTION Recognizing United States Treasurer Brandon L. Beach and dedicating a road in his honor;1 and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, United States Treasurer Brandon L. Beach has long been recognized by the3 citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal4 commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he served the people of Georgia with distinction for over two decades, having6 been elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2013 representing District 21; and7 WHEREAS, Treasurer Beach held several influential positions in the Senate, including8 Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, where he was instrumental in advancing9 transportation and infrastructure reforms critical to Georgia's economic growth and global10 competitiveness, and Chairman of the Senate Economic Developmen t and Tourism11 Committee, where he focused on fostering a business friendly environment in this state; and12 WHEREAS, Treasurer Beach served as the executive director and f ounder of the North13 Fulton Improvement District and has held key leadership roles w ith the Georgia Regional14 S. R. 932 - 1 - 26 LC 39 5032 Transportation Authority, the Georgia Department of Transportation, and the Fulton County15 Development Authority; and16 WHEREAS, he was appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as the United States17 Treasurer, a role in which he oversees the nation's financial o perations, manages the U.S.18 Mint and Fort Knox, and advises on matters of fiscal policy; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished20 Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a road in his honor.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL22 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the portion of State Route 9 from Old Milton Parkway to23 Mayfield Road in Fulton County is dedicated as the United State s Treasurer Brandon L.24 Beach Highway.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and26 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the United States Treasurer27 Brandon L. Beach Highway.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for dis tribution to United States30 Treasurer Brandon L.
