26 LC 129 1344 Senate Resolution 935 By: Senators James of the 28th, Kemp of the 38th, Jones of the 10th, Wicks of the 34th, Lucas of the 26th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Ms. Sharon J. Hill for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose1 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Women's Legislative Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Ms. Sharon J. Hill is a devoted community leader and t ireless advocate for10 social justice and voting rights; and11 WHEREAS, she previously served as a media relations strategist and publicist for Senator12 Donzella James and has contributed her expertise to numerous other distinguished political13 campaigns and offices throughout the State of Georgia; and14 S. R. 935 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1344 WHEREAS, she has held various leadership roles within her community, including service15 with the NAACP and the League of Women Voters of Georgia, among many other16 prestigious organizations; and 17 WHEREAS, her outstanding work has earned her recognition throug hout the State of18 Georgia, including being named the 2021 United Nations Human Ri ghts Ambassador by19 Trinity University, the 2020 Woman of Action by the League of Women Voters Marietta-20 Cobb County, the 2019 Cobb County NAACP MLK Day "Living the Dream" Award, and21 numerous other distinguished honors; and22 WHEREAS, Ms. Sharon J. Hill is a woman of unassuming greatness whose humble acts of23 kindness and generosity have uplifted her entire community; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body27 congratulate and commend Ms. Sharon J. Hill for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T.28 Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best wishes for her continued success.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ms. Sharon J.
