26 LC 129 1370 Senate Resolution 934 By: Senators Still of the 48th, Brass of the 6th, Harbin of the 16th, Albers of the 56th and Anavitarte of the 31st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Mike Dobbs; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Mike Dobbs joined Camp Southern Ground in early 2016, when the2 organization was still in its infancy, to help bring Zac Brown's bold vision to life; and 3 WHEREAS, Camp Southern Ground was built on the vision of a place where children of all4 abilities could experience the magic of an inclusive summer camp, and where veterans and5 their families could find renewal, purpose, and growth after extraordinary sacrifice; and 6 WHEREAS, Mike focused on building a strong and sustainable foun dation for the camp,7 expanding diversified fundraising, developing an independent an d high-caliber Board of8 Directors, cultivating a mission-driven team and culture, and d esigning and launching9 transformational programs that would deliver on the camp's promise; and10 WHEREAS, during his tenure, he led the organization to raise over $77 million to build out11 the campus and provide mission driven programming; strengthened the organization's12 governance and credibility; expanded the board to include nationally respected leaders across13 business, philanthropy, and healthcare; and established Advisory Councils of subject matter14 experts to deepen strategic guidance and thought leadership; and15 S. R. 934 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1370 WHEREAS, most importantly, Mike helped transition Camp Southern Ground's fundraising16 model from one primarily dependent on its founder to a diversified and sustainable base of17 corporate, foundation, and family philanthropy - ensuring long-term stability and growth; and18 WHEREAS, beyond the capital raised, the programs launched, and the accolades earned,19 Mike considers his proudest accomplishment to be building a cur ated team of20 service-oriented, high-impact professionals who care deeply abo ut the mission and an21 organization that recognizes and leverages the unique strengths of every individual it serves22 and every individual who serves within it; and23 WHEREAS, after ten years of leadership, Mike leaves behind not just buildings or programs,24 but a durable culture, a strengthened institution, and a commun ity positioned to scale and25 profoundly impact lives for generations to come.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body27 recognize and commend Mike Dobbs for his dedicated service to C amp Southern Ground28 and extend their sincere best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mike Dobbs.31 S.
