Senate Resolution 944

A RESOLUTION
Commending and recognizing Dr. Ry an Dyer of North Paulding High School for his1
outstanding achievements in and his contribution to athletics in the state of Georgia; and for2
other purposes.3
WHEREAS, Dr. Ryan Dyer was named Athletic Director of the Year for the 2024-20254
season, highlighting his outstanding commitment to developing athletics at North Paulding5
High School; and6
WHEREAS, Dr. Dyer has faithfully served North Paulding High Sch ool for 11 years and7
currently enters his third year as Athletic Director and Assist ant Principal, demonstrating8
steadfast leadership and commitment to student success; and9
WHEREAS, he previously served eight years as Head Men’s Basketb all Coach at North10
Paulding High School, building a competitive and disciplined program rooted in hard work11
and accountability; and12
WHEREAS, during the 2018-2019 season, he guided his team to an impressive 20-8 overall13
record, a state playoff appearance, and both region regular sea son and region tournament14
runner-up finishes; and15

WHEREAS, his 2018-2019 team achieved an outstanding cumulative 3.8 grade point16
average, exemplifying excellence not only in athletics but also in academics; and17
WHEREAS, in recognition of his leadership and success, he was n amed Paulding County18
Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Coach of the Year19
Award in 2018-2019; and20
WHEREAS, he has been instrumental in establishing Paulding Coun ty’s first-ever youth21
basketball league, which has grown to serve over 600 young athl etes and strengthened22
community engagement in youth sports; and23
WHEREAS, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to educational leadership by earning24
his Doctoral Degree from California Coast University in 2016, a master’s degree from Troy25
University in 2009, and an Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University26
in 2011; and27
WHEREAS, a native of Dalton, Georgia, he is devoted to his family, sharing his life with his28
wife, Candice Lumpkin Dyer, and their two children, Ava Bray Dyer and Bryce Dyer, while29
continuing to serve as a role model within his community.30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body31
commend and recognize Dr. Ryan Dyer for his outstanding leadership, dedication to student32
achievement, blue-collar mentality, and lasting contributions t o athletics and education at33
North Paulding High School and in Paulding County.34
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed35
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Ryan Dyer.36
