26 LC 112 3920 House Resolution 1688 By: Representatives Williams of the 168th and DeLoach of the 167th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the First Preparatory Christian Academy boys basketball team for winning1 the 2026 GIAA Class A Boys State Basketball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, First Preparatory Christian Academy, located in Hinesv ille, is a private3 Christian school serving approximately 300 students in grades P K2 through 12 that is4 dedicated to academic excellence, athletic achievement, and the development of strong5 Christian character; and6 WHEREAS, under the leadership and direction of Headmaster Leah Gumatatao, the school7 continues its mission of educating and guiding students to excel both in the classroom and8 in extracurricular activities; and9 WHEREAS, the mission of the First Preparatory Christian Academy athletic program is to10 compete athletically at the highest level by placing the utmost importance on a "fundamentals11 first" mentality while maintaining a primary focus on the development of Christian character12 in each individual associated with the program through the teac hing of six Core Values:13 Courage, Integrity, Patience, Humility, Discipline, and Enthusiasm; and14 H. R. 1688 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3920 WHEREAS, the First Preparatory Christian Academy boys basketbal l team achieved15 extraordinary success by winning the 2026 GIAA Class A Boys Sta te Basketball16 Championship, securing back-to-back state championships and demonstrating exceptional17 teamwork, dedication, and perseverance; and18 WHEREAS, this achievement was made possible through the leaders hip of Head Coach19 Shane Smith, who has invested deeply in the lives of each and every student he has had the20 opportunity to coach and teach, building not only talented athl etes but also young men of21 strong character; and22 WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the First Preparatory Christian Academy basketball23 team bring great pride to their school, families, and the broader community of Hinesville and24 the State of Georgia.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body congratulate the First Preparatory Chr istian Academy boys27 basketball team for winning the 2026 GIAA Class A Boys State Basketball Championship28 and for representing their school and community with excellence , discipline, and29 sportsmanship.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize the outstanding31 leadership of Head Coach Shane Smith, Headmaster Leah Gumatatao, and the coaching staff,32 players, students, and families whose dedication made this remarkable achievement possible.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to First35 Preparatory Christian Academy.36 H.
