26 LC 129 1376 House Resolution 1686 By: Representatives Reese of the 140th, Hugley of the 141st, Smith of the 138th, and Buckner of the 137th A RESOLUTION Congratulating Columbus Police Sergeant Katina Williams upon being named WRBL News1 3's 2026 Remarkable Woman; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Sergeant Katina Williams has served with honor and dis tinction with the3 Columbus Police Department; and4 WHEREAS, she is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for excellence in all5 of her endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and s afety of the citizens6 Georgia; and7 WHEREAS, she is highly regarded by the citizens of her community and by state and local8 government officials as a woman of unquestioned integrity and d edication to the9 administration of justice and sound principles of law enforcement; and10 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion11 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of her12 duties; and13 H. R. 1686 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1376 WHEREAS, Sergeant Williams' efficient and effective commitment to excellence has been14 recognized by her peers through the many decorations and awards s h e h a s r e c e i v e d ,15 including being named WRBL News 3's 2026 Remarkable Woman; and16 WHEREAS, her inspiring commitment to the welfare of others is a n outstanding example17 of the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on th e lives and well-being of18 others; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and20 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the21 citizens of this state.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body congratulate Sergeant Katina Williams upon being named WRBL24 News 3's 2026 Remarkable Woman and express their utmost appreci ation for having so25 purely and truly defined for others the meaning of public servant.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to28 Sergeant Katina Williams.29 H.
