26 LC 112 3882 House Resolution 1683 By: Representatives Bonner of the 73rd, Williamson of the 112th, Cheokas of the 151st, and Washburn of the 144th A RESOLUTION Commending the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia)1 and recognizing February 3, 2026, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, founded in 1913 as BOMA-Atlanta, BOMA Georgia is a trade association that4 has supported the commercial real estate industry in Georgia for 113 years; and5 WHEREAS, the commercial real estate industry has grown to curre ntly contribute nearly6 $5.5 billion to Georgia's economy annually while supporting nearly 50,000 jobs in the state;7 and8 WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia members are responsible for the ownership, management, and9 administration of more than 150 million square feet of office space and additional millions10 of square feet of facilities throughout Georgia; and11 WHEREAS, these individuals represent building ownership, profes sional property12 management firms, professional service providers, and contract services, and BOMA13 Georgia members have been instrumental in cementing Georgia as a national leader in14 commercial real estate over the past century; and15 H. R. 1683 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3882 WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia's educational programs, research, and oth er resources have16 contributed significantly to our state's favorable economic development; and17 WHEREAS, for two decades, BOMA Georgia has advocated for and ad vanced Georgia's18 business climate through initiatives such as the passage of HB 1385 in 2006 and SB 377 in19 2020, which increased access to building plan reviews and inspections; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng accomplishments and21 history of this extraordinary organization be recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body commend the Building Owners and Manage rs Association of24 Georgia upon its 113th anniversary and recognize February 3, 2026, as BOMA Georgia Day25 at the state capitol.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia.29 H.
