Purvis III on the o ccasion of his 33rd1 pastoral anniversary; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the3 Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,4 psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and5 WHEREAS, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III was called by the Lord 33 years ago to lead the6 congregation of Destiny World Church; and 7 WHEREAS, his vision and direction have helped Destiny World Church grow immensely8 in size and influence, uplifting the community like the light of Bethlehem and serving as a9 spiritual leader and place for fellowship; and10 WHEREAS, over the past 33 years leading Destiny World Church, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis11 III has established numerous initiatives that have supported the growth and development of12 the church and surrounding community, including the Destiny Chr istian Academy, WTP13 Ministries, home ownership workshops, youth mentorship programs, and more; and14 H. R. 1682 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3921 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the s ick, counseling the15 troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or16 humanitarian, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III has shown the energy, devotion, and commitment17 truly reflective of divine guidance; and18 WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III is a19 source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message21 of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered22 on behalf of persons in need.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III on the25 wonderful occasion of his 33rd pastoral anniversary and extend best wishes for many more26 years of successful fellowship and leadership.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Pastor29 Wilbur T.
