Senate Resolution 951

A RESOLUTION
Commending the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia)1
and recognizing February 3, 2026, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol; and for other2
purposes.3
WHEREAS, founded in 1913 as BOMA-Atlanta, BOMA Georgia is a trade association that4
has supported the commercial real estate industry in Georgia for 113 years; and5
WHEREAS, the commercial real estate industry has grown to curre ntly contribute nearly6
$5.5 billion to Georgia's economy annually while supporting nearly 55,400 jobs in the state;7
and8
WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia members are responsible for the ownership, management, and9
administration of over 281 million square feet of office space and additional millions of10
square feet of facilities throughout Georgia; and11
WHEREAS, these individuals represent building ownership, profes sional property12
management firms, professional service providers, and contract services, and BOMA13
Georgia members have been instrumental in cementing Georgia as a national leader in14
commercial real estate over the past century; and15

WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia's educational programs, research, and oth er resources have16
contributed significantly to our state's favorable economic development; and17
WHEREAS, for two decades, BOMA Georgia has advocated for and ad vanced Georgia's18
business climate through initiatives such as the passage of HB 1385 in 2006 and SB 377 in19
2020, which increased access to building plan reviews and inspections; and20
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng accomplishments and21
history of this extraordinary organization be recognized.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23
commend the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia upon its 113th24
anniversary and recognize February 3, 2026, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol.25
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26
to make an appropriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for di stribution to the Building27
Owners and Managers Association of Georgia.28
