26 LC 39 5065 House Resolution 1692 By: Representative Jones of the 60th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Emmaline Farnsworth; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Emmaline Farnsworth has shown by the example of her accomplishments that2 the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within reach of the students in this state;3 and4 WHEREAS, Emmaline is a resident of House District 60 and a supe rlative seventh grade5 student at Sutton Middle School; and6 WHEREAS, this gifted young scholar is bilingual in Spanish, participating in Atlanta Public7 School's dual language immersion program since kindergarten; and8 WHEREAS, Emmaline is a member of her school's varsity debate team, where she leads and9 inspires her teammates as a captain and has been recognized with numerous speaker awards10 from competitions through the Urban Debate League; and11 WHEREAS, a talented softball player and pitcher, Emmaline demon strates the focus and12 time management skills required of student athletes, maintaining straight As while juggling13 school work with team practices and lessons; and14 H. R. 1692 - 1 - 26 LC 39 5065 WHEREAS, along with friends, Emmaline started a club in element ary school that raised15 money and collected supplies for dogs and cats in need at Fulton County's Lifeline animal16 shelter; and17 WHEREAS, Emmaline brings great pride and honor to her family, school, classmates, and18 teammates with her commitmen t to academics, athletic abilities, persuasive talents, and19 compassion for animals; and20 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation tow ard the future of this21 bright and promising young citizen.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Emmaline Farnswo rth for her24 accomplishments and extend best wishes for her continued success in her future endeavors.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to27 Emmaline Farnsworth.28 H.
