A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Brother LaDray Brandan Gilbert, J.D.; and for other1
purposes.2
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the passing of an outstand ing citizen, legal3
professional, and devoted man of faith, Brother LaDray Brandan Gilbert, J.D., who was4
called from labor to reward on February 26, 2026; and5
WHEREAS, born on November 26, 1981, to the late Mr. Johnnie and Mrs. Carnell Gilbert,6
LaDray was a proud native of Jackson County, Florida, and a cherished resident of Atlanta,7
Georgia, whose presence left an indelible mark on his community; and8
WHEREAS, a man of profound intellect and dedication, he earned his Juris Doctor and was9
a proud graduate of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), embodying the10
excellence and spirit of his alma mater in every professional endeavor; and11
WHEREAS, his life was anchored by his devotion to Jesus Christ, having joined his home12
church, Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Malone, Florida , and he lived a life of13
unselfish service to various civic and social organizations; and14

WHEREAS, he was a proud and active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., where he15
modeled the cardinal principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift; and16
WHEREAS, though he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Keston Gilbert, his legacy17
of love continues through his children, Madison J. Gilbert and Maddox B. Gilbert; the18
mother of his children and dear friend, Nakia Williams; his godfather, Ulysses Dudley; his19
siblings, DeCarla, Tracey, Nichole, and Brandon; and a vast net work of family, fraternity20
brothers, and friends; and21
WHEREAS, to know Brother LaDray Brandan Gilbert was to love him, and his memory will22
forever be cherished as a testament to a life lived with purpose, kindness, and an unwavering23
commitment to his fellow man.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Brother LaDray Brandan26
Gilbert, J.D., and express their deepest condolences to his family and friends during this time27
of bereavement.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30
family of Brother LaDray Brandan Gilbert, J.D.31
