A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Frances Potter Ross for 51 incredible years of service to the1
United States Social Security Administration office; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Frances Potter Ross has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for3
the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep p ersonal commitment to the4
welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced7
dramatically by her superlative 51 years of service with the Un ited States Social Security8
Administration office in Thomasville, Georgia; and9
WHEREAS, Frances' significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience10
and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state11
have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and12
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high13
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom14

which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved15
through overcoming the many challenges of life; and16
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for17
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and18
WHEREAS, Frances has served with honor and distinction with the U.S. Social Security19
Administration office, and her vision and unyielding commitment will be sorely missed upon20
the occasion of her retirement; and21
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
recognize and commend Frances Potter Ross for her efficient, ef fective, unselfish, and25
dedicated public service; congratulate her upon the grand occas ion of her retirement; and26
extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Frances Potter29
Ross.30
