26 LC 112 3928 House Resolution 1740 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63rd, Cannon of the 58th, Berry of the 56th, Scott of the 76th, and Davis of the 87th A RESOLUTION Commending Cheryl Terrell, JW Dobbs Elementary School's 2025-20 26 Teacher of the1 Year; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young3 people, and Cheryl Terrell exemplifies the selfless dedication that is characteristic of our4 finest teachers; and5 WHEREAS, Cheryl Terrell is a highly praised educator at JW Dobb s Elementary School,6 tirelessly directing an extraordinary amount of time and talent toward guiding students to a7 brighter future; and8 WHEREAS, throughout her 31 years of service, she has taught a wide range of grade levels,9 including pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade, giving her a10 deep understanding of early childhood and elementary development; and11 WHEREAS, she further serves as an Early Intervention Program (E IP) math and reading12 teacher, where she works closely with students to strengthen fo undational academic skills13 and support them in reaching grade-level proficiency; and14 H. R. 1740 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3928 WHEREAS, Cheryl Terrell has earned distinction for teaching excellence as a result of her15 dedication to her students and her profession and has been honored as JW Dobbs Elementary16 School's 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year; and17 WHEREAS, in recognition of such remarkable contributions to the education and welfare18 of Georgia's students, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the19 extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding educator.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend Cheryl Terrell, JW Dobbs Eleme ntary School's22 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, and express their most sincere b est wishes for continued23 success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to26 Cheryl Terrell.27 H.
