26 LC 112 3763 House Resolution 1726 By: Representative Stinson of the 150th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Mickey Jones on the1 occasion of his military retirement; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, our nation's security relies on patriotic men and women who place themselves3 in harm's way to protect the freedoms cherished by all United States citizens; and4 WHEREAS, Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Mickey Jones, a native of Oglethorpe,5 Georgia, has honorably served for decades as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty6 with the United States Navy, culminating in his final post as the Command Master Chief of7 Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific; and8 WHEREAS, throughout his distinguished career, Command Master Chief Jones has carried9 out fleet assignments aboard the USS Orion, USS Hunley, USS O'Brien, USS Curtis Wilbur,10 USS Thach, USS Gary, USS Kitty Hawk, USS Essex, and USS Bonhomme Richard; and11 WHEREAS, he has further completed shore duty assignments at the Naval12 Leadership/Center for Personal and Professional Development in Kings Bay, Georgia, and13 Afloat Training Group Western Pacific in Yokosuka, Japan; and14 H. R. 1726 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3763 WHEREAS, selected to the Command Master Chief (CMC) program in 2015, his tours15 included Port Royal in Honolulu, Hawaii; Commander, Destroyer Squadron FIFTEEN; and16 Naval Surface Group Western Pacific, homeported in Yokosuka; and17 WHEREAS, Command Master Chief Jones has additionally distinguis hed himself as a18 graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, the Command Maste r Chief/Chief of the19 Boat School, and the Navy Senior Leadership Seminar; and20 WHEREAS, his decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with21 three awards, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four awards, and22 numerous unit and campaign awards; and23 WHEREAS, through strength, discipline, and steadfast resolve, C ommand Master Chief24 Jones has brought great credit to himself, his family, the Stat e of Georgia, and this nation,25 and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his outstanding service be honored.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Command Master C hief (SW/AW)28 Mickey Jones for his effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia29 and this nation; congratulate him on the occasion of his retirement; and extend best wishes30 for continued health and happiness.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to33 Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Mickey Jones.34 H.
