A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Fannie Brown; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Fannie Brown was born on March 11, 1926, in Palmetto, Georgia, and this year2
she enjoys the rare distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and3
WHEREAS, over the past century, Fannie Brown has become a true pillar of the Palmetto4
community, and today she stands as a living testimony of service, perseverance, dignity, and5
love; and6
WHEREAS, she is a founding member of J.S. Hammond Missionary Baptist Church, where7
she served her fellow congreg ants with faithful devotion for mo re than 30 years as the8
financial secretary; and9
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high10
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and 11
WHEREAS, Fannie Brown possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience12
and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of13
life; and14

WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for15
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and16
WHEREAS, a kind and generous person, Fannie Brown brings joy an d happiness to her17
family and to the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing her;18
and19
WHEREAS, she has witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of her lifetime20
and we salute her contribution to its progress through her tire less efforts on behalf of her21
community and extended family; and22
WHEREAS, by the example Fannie Brown has made of her life, she makes this world a23
better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and prope r that she be appropriately24
recognized during this very special and memorable time.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26
the members of this body commend Fannie Brown for her unselfish, dedicated, and loving27
service to the members of her family and community; congratulat e her on the remarkable28
occasion of her 100th birthday; and extend their most sincere b est wishes for continued29
health and happiness.30
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to32
Fannie Brown.33
