26 LC 112 9004 House Resolution 1720 By: Representative Griffin of the 149th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Pastor Robert E. Knight on the occas ion of his pastoral1 retirement; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Pastor Robert E. Knight has demonstrated his commitmen t to teaching the3 Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,4 psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and5 WHEREAS, Pastor Robert E. Knight has faithfully served as the shepherd of five churches6 over the last 26 years, ministering to the spiritual, emotional , and physical needs of his7 congregation and community through seasons of both joy and challenge; and8 WHEREAS, he has traveled nearly 50,000 miles to preach the Word , performing 309 baptisms, 52 conversions, and 1,500 sermons at churches across the State of Georgia, leaving10 a legacy of faith that will endure for generations; and11 WHEREAS, through his exemplary leadership, churches have been b uilt and grown12 spiritually and numerically, expanding ministries, strengthenin g outreach, and fostering a13 spirit of unity and love; and14 H. R. 1720 - 1 - 26 LC 112 9004 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the s ick, counseling the15 troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or16 humanitarian, Pastor Robert E. Knight serves as a shining example of God's righteous path;17 and18 WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Pastor R obert E. Knight is a19 source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message21 of peace and love be appropriately honored for his innumerable good works rendered on22 behalf of persons in need.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Pastor Robert E. Knight upon the grand25 occasion of his pastoral retirement and extend best wishes for a well-deserved season of rest,26 renewal, and prosperity.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Pastor29 Robert E.
