26 LC 112 3941 House Resolution 1743 By: Representatives Clark of the 108th, Beckles of the 96th, Okoye of the 102nd, McClain of the 109th, Carter of the 93rd, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Gwinnett County Public Schools; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest school dis trict in the State of2 Georgia, serves nearly 180,000 students and is guided by a visi on to become a system of3 world-class schools wherein each and every student acquires the academic knowledge and4 skills necessary to succeed in college, careers, and life; and5 WHEREAS, Gwinnett County Public Schools remains steadfast in it s commitment to6 pursuing excellence in academic knowledge, skills, and behavior for every student while7 ensuring that students remain at the center of every decision made in support of teaching and8 learning; and9 WHEREAS, the students, educators, staff, families, and communit y partners of Gwinnett10 County Public Schools represent one of the most diverse and dynamic school communities11 in this state and exemplify the strength, resilience, and promise of public education; and12 WHEREAS, the district continues to advance rigorous and relevant learning opportunities13 through academics, career and technical education, fine arts, a thletics, and specialized14 H. R. 1743 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3941 support services designed to prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving global society;15 and16 WHEREAS, the continued success of Gwinnett County Public Schools reflects a shared17 commitment among educators, families, community partners, and p ublic leaders to foster18 safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments that expand opportunity and empower19 every student to reach his or her full potential; and20 WHEREAS, Gwinnett County Public Schools Capitol Day at the Geor gia State Capitol21 provides an important opportunity for students, educators, board members, and community22 stakeholders to engage with members of the Georgia General Asse mbly, celebrate the23 accomplishments of the district, and highlight the critical rol e of public education in24 strengthening communities across this state; and25 WHEREAS, this event underscores the importance of civic engagem ent and encourages26 students to see themselves as future leaders who will contribut e to the continued growth,27 prosperity, and success of the State of Georgia.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body recognize and commend Gwinnett County Public Schools on the30 occasion of Gwinnett County Public Schools Capitol Day, held on March 25, 2026, and31 extend sincere appreciation to the students, educators, staff, families, and community32 partners who represent the district with distinction.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the35 public and the press.36 H.
