26 LC 112 3884 House Resolution 1731 By: Representatives Bell of the 75th, Crawford of the 89th, and Cannon of the 58th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the New Leaders Council and the New Leaders Council1 Atlanta Chapter; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council is a national nonpartisan lead ership development3 organization founded in 2005 to cultivate the next generation o f civic and public leaders4 across the United States; and5 WHEREAS, through its flagship Institute program, the New Leader s Council provides6 intensive training in public policy, governance, coalition buil ding, fundraising,7 communications, and ethical leadership, equipping emerging leaders with the skills necessary8 to serve their communities and strengthen democratic institutions; and9 WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council has trained thousands of alumni nationwide who now10 serve in elected office, lead nonprofit organizations, manage p ublic agencies, and hold11 executive leadership roles in the private sector, demonstrating t h e b r o a d i m p a c t o f t h e12 organization's commitment to leadership development; and13 WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council Atlanta Chapter has become one of the strongest14 chapters in the country, selecting a competitive annual cohort of emerging leaders from15 H. R. 1731 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3884 across sectors including government, nonprofit organizations, a dvocacy, business, and16 community organizing; and17 WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council Atlanta Institute equips fellows with practical tools,18 professional mentorship, and cross sector networks that strengt hen Georgia's civic19 infrastructure and help build a strong and diverse leadership p ipeline for the future of our20 state; and21 WHEREAS, alumni of the New Leaders Council Atlanta Chapter cont inue to serve the22 people of Georgia in meaningful and impactful ways, including serving as elected leaders,23 leading nonprofit and community organizations, managing campaigns, shaping public policy,24 and advancing innovative solutions to issues affecting communities across this state; and25 WHEREAS, the work of the New Leaders Council and its Atlanta ch apter contributes26 significantly to the development of ethical, effective, and community focused leadership that27 benefits the State of Georgia and its citizens.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body recognize and commend the New Leaders Council and the New30 Leaders Council Atlanta Chapter for their dedication to cultiva ting the next generation of31 civic leaders and for their continued contributions to strengthening communities throughout32 Georgia.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the35 New Leaders Council Atlanta Chapter.36 H.
