26 LC 112 3935 House Resolution 1735 By: Representatives Beckles of the 96th, McClain of the 109th, Okoye of the 102nd, Clark of the 108th, Adeyina of the 110th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending the outstanding achievements of the National Beta Cl ub and National1 Elementary Honor Society students of Beauty P. Baldwin Elementary School; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, Beauty P. Baldwin Elementary School is named in honor of Beauty P. Baldwin,4 who made history as the first Black woman to serve as a school superintendent in the State5 of Georgia and whose legacy of leadership and educational excellence continues to inspire6 students and educators alike; and7 WHEREAS, the school proudly hosts chapters of the National Beta Club and the National8 Elementary Honor Society, both of which recognize and promote h igh academic9 achievement, leadership, character, service, and citizenship am ong elementary school10 students; and11 WHEREAS, membership in these d istinguished organizations is a r eflection of students'12 dedication to excellence in the classroom, commitment to service within their community,13 and the development of strong character and leadership skills at a young age; and14 H. R. 1735 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3935 WHEREAS, a group of fourth and fifth grade members of the Natio nal Beta Club and15 National Elementary Honor Society from Beauty P. Baldwin Elementary School are being16 honored with a special educational visit to the Georgia State Capitol, where they will learn17 about the legislative process, civic responsibility, and the workings of state government; and18 WHEREAS, this visit serves not only as a celebration of their accomplishments but also as19 an opportunity to encourage civic engagement and inspire the next generation of leaders in20 the State of Georgia; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng achievements and22 promising futures of these exceptional students be honored by the members of this body.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body commend the National Beta Club and National Elementary Honor25 Society students of Beauty P. Baldwin Elementary School for the ir academic excellence,26 leadership, and service.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the29 students, faculty, and administration of Beauty P.
