26 LC 129 1401 House Resolution 1729 By: Representatives Lim of the 98th, Clark of the 108th, and Lupton of the 83rd A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Meadowcreek High School boys basketball team for winning the GHSA1 Class 6A Region 7 Basketball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Meadowcreek High School boys basketball team has e stablished and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball6 competition by posting an outstanding record of 24 wins and only seven losses; and7 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team8 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fi tting finale to a remarkable9 season, the team captured its first regional championship in 20 years, as well as won two10 playoff games and made it to the state quarterfinals; and11 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding12 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the13 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Terry14 Smith and Assistant Coaches Dominique Davis, Eric Smith, and Sean Smith; and15 H. R. 1729 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1401 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by16 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is17 abundantly proper to call them champions.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body congratulate the Meadowcreek High School boys basketball team20 for winning the GHSA Class 6A Region 7 Basketball Championship and extend best wishes21 for their continued success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Meadowcreek High School boys basketball team.25 H.
