A RESOLUTION
Honoring the lives of Howell and Jane Teasley and dedicating an intersection in their1
memory; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Howell and Jane Teasley have long been recognized by the citizens of this state3
for the vital role that they played in leadership and their dee p personal commitment to the4
welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, Mr. Howell Teasley grew up in Elberton, Georgia, and e arned a bachelor's6
degree in accounting from the University of Georgia; and7
WHEREAS, Mr. Teasley diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his8
time, talents, and energy for 35 years to the contracts department at Lockheed Martin; and9
WHEREAS, Jane Teasley grew up in Franklin, North Carolina, and dedicated her time to the10
field of education at schools such as Awtry Middle School in Acworth, Georgia, and Shiloh11
Hills Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia; and12

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Teasley demonstrated their deep and abidi ng faith as active13
members of Morganton Baptist Church, where they helped found Mountain Area Christian14
Academy; and15
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that these remarka ble and distinguished16
Georgians be appropriately recognized by dedicating an intersection in their memory.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL18
ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the intersection of State Route 515 an d the Hemptown19
Connector in Fannin County is dedicated as the Howell and Jane Teasley Memorial20
Intersection.21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and22
directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Howell and Jane Teasley23
Memorial Intersection.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the 26
family of Howell and Jane Teasley and to the Department of Transportation.27
