26 LC 112 3843 House Resolution 1727 By: Representative Stinson of the 150th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Darlene Williams-Roberts; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Dr. Darlene Williams-Roberts has long stood as a beacon of excellence in the2 fields of fitness advocacy, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership, and she has made a lasting3 impact on her community through her visionary service and dedication; and4 WHEREAS, following the passing of her beloved husband, who was deeply passionate about5 cultivating Muscadines, Dr. Williams-Roberts honored his legacy by establishing and6 growing Roberts Vineyard, which now stands as the only USDA GAP-certified vineyard in7 Georgia under Black female ownership; and8 WHEREAS, Roberts Vineyard also includes a licensed winery where Dr. Williams-Roberts9 blends, bottles, and sells her own wines, hosting exclusive tastings and setting a benchmark10 for excellence in sustainable viticulture and agribusiness; and11 WHEREAS, Dr. Williams-Roberts further serves as Vice Chair of t he Economic12 Development Board of Crawford County and is an active member of the Crawford County13 Chamber Board, where she plays an essential role in fostering e conomic growth and14 supporting local business initiatives; and15 H. R. 1727 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3843 WHEREAS, her advocacy for women in agriculture is additionally reflected by her16 involvement with the Women AG Leadership Foundation Inc., where she continues to17 empower future generations of female agricultural leaders; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le individual be19 appropriately honored during this special time.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Darlene Will iams-Roberts for her22 many outstanding achievements and contributions on behalf of her fellow citizens as well as23 extend best wishes for continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.26 Darlene Williams-Roberts.27 H.
