A RESOLUTION
Honoring the courage, service, and sacrifice of the men and wom en of the United States1
Armed Forces; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the United States Armed Forces have a long and proud history of defending the3
freedoms and security of this nation; and4
WHEREAS, men and women in uniform serve with courage, professionalism, and dedication5
in regions across the world, often under dangerous and uncertain conditions; and6
WHEREAS, members of the Armed Forces willingly place themselves in harm's way in7
defense of the United States and its interests; and8
WHEREAS, military service is not borne by service members alone but also by their9
families, including parents, spouses, and children, who support them with strength and10
sacrifice; and11
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia is home to many active-duty service members, veterans,12
and military families who contribute greatly to the strength of our communities; and13

WHEREAS, the people of this state are deeply grateful for the s ervice and sacrifice of all14
members of the United States Armed Forces, past and present; and15
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that this body express its respect, appreciation, and support for16
those who serve in uniform, without regard to specific military actions or policy decisions.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18
the members of this body hereby honor the courage, professionalism, and selfless service of19
the men and women of the United States Armed Forces as well as express their deepest20
gratitude to military families, whose support and sacrifice make such service possible.21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the23
public and the press.24
