26 LC 47 4127/AP House Bill 1570 (AS PASSED HOUSE AND SENATE) By: Representative Mathis of the 133rd A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend an Act creating the Cochran/Bleckley Airport Authority, approved May 12, 20151 (Ga. L. 2015, p. 4067), so as to revise the membership of the a uthority's board; to provide2 for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:4 SECTION 1.5 An Act creating the Cochran/Bleckley Airport Authority, approve d May 12, 2015 (Ga. L.6 2015, p. 4067), is amended in Section 3 by revising paragraph ( 1) of subsection (b) and7 subsection (c) as follows:8 "(1)(A) The authority shall consist of seven members appointed as follows:9 (i) Three members shall be appointed by the governing authorit y of the City of10 Cochran;11 (ii) Three members shall be ap pointed by the governing authori ty of Bleckley12 County; and13 (iii) One member shall be appointed by a majority of the membe rs provided for in14 divisions (i) and (ii) of this subparagraph.15 H. B. 1570 - 1 - 26 LC 47 4127/AP (B)(i) One of the members appointed pursuant to division (i) of subparagraph (A) of16 this paragraph, one of the members appointed pursuant to divisi on (ii) of17 subparagraph (A) of this paragraph, and the member provided for by division (iii) of18 subparagraph (A) of this paragraph may be a resident of Bleckley County or a resident19 of any county adjacent to Bleckley County possessing specific expertise in aviation,20 business, or finance.21 (ii) Except as provided for in division (i) of this subparagra ph, members of the22 authority shall be residents of Bleckley County."23 "(c) To be eligible for appointment as a member of the authority, a person shall be 21 years24 of age and shall not have been convicted of a felony."25 SECTION 2.26 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.27 H.
