26 LC 60 0275 House Bill 1572 By: Representatives Westbrook of the 163rd, Kelley of the 16th, Tran of the 80th, Au of the 50th, and Roberts of the 52nd A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Article 13 of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Official Co de of Georgia Annotated,1 relating to food service establishments, so as to require certain actions relating to food allergy2 awareness in food service establishments; to require certain posting in staff areas; to provide3 for the creation or approval by the Department of Public Health of such posting; to provide4 for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6 SECTION 1.7 Article 13 of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Official Code of Geo rgia Annotated, relating to8 food service establishments, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:9 "26-2-380.10 (a) On and after January 1, 2027, each food service establishm ent shall display11 prominently in the staff area of such establishment a poster re lating to food allergy12 awareness that includes information regarding the risk of an allergic reaction.13 (b) No later than November 1, 2026, the Department of Public H ealth shall create or14 approve a poster required to be displayed pursuant to subsection (a) of this Code section15 and make such poster available on its website."16 H.
