26 LC 129 1294 Senate Resolution 971 By: Senators Halpern of the 39th, Albers of the 56th, Orrock of the 36th, Jackson of the 41st, Kemp of the 38th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Anna Roach; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Anna Roach has faithfully served as Executive Director of the Atlanta Regional2 Commission, demonstrating exceptional professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public3 service; and4 WHEREAS, the Atlanta Regional Commission serves as the official regional planning and5 intergovernmental coordination agency for the 11-county metropo litan Atlanta region,6 providing leadership in transportation planning, community development, aging and health7 services, and regional cooperation; and8 WHEREAS, under Anna Roach's leadership, the Atlanta Regional Co mmission has9 strengthened collaboration among cities, counties, state agencies, nonprofit organizations,10 and private-sector partners to address the region's most pressing challenges; and11 WHEREAS, she has played a vital role in advancing comprehensive regional plans that12 promote smart growth, mobility, housing affordability, workforc e development,13 environmental sustainability, and economic competitiveness; and14 S. R. 971 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1294 WHEREAS, her commitment to data-driven decision-making and evidence-based policy has15 improved transparency, accountability, and long-term planning throughout the metropolitan16 Atlanta region; and17 WHEREAS, Anna Roach has championed inclusive public engagement and equitable18 development, ensuring that historically underserved communities a r e m e a n i n g f u l l y19 represented in regional planning efforts; and20 WHEREAS, through her leadership, the Atlanta Regional Commissio n has expanded21 programs that enhance transportation access, support older adul ts, strengthen local22 government capacity, and improve overall quality of life for residents; and23 WHEREAS, Anna Roach has earned the respect and trust of elected officials, civic leaders,24 and community members through her collaborative approach and de dication to25 consensus-building; and26 WHEREAS, her vision and stewardship have helped position the Atlanta region as a national27 model for regional cooperation, innovation, and responsible governance; and28 WHEREAS, Anna Roach's commitment to excellence, public service, and regional progress29 continues to inspire colleagues, partners, and future leaders i n metropolitan planning and30 administration.31 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body32 recognize and commend Anna Roach and extend sincere best wishes for continued success.33 S.
