26 LC 112 3952 Senate Resolution 992 By: Senators Merritt of the 9th, Rahman of the 5th, Anderson of the 43rd and Harrell of the 40th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Rochelle Wright; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Rochelle Wright has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3 of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state, as evidenced6 dramatically by her superlative service as the first Black woman elected to the Grayson City7 Council; and8 WHEREAS, Rochelle Wright is a proud Grayson resident, entrepren eur, and community9 advocate whose passion for her fellow citizens and dedication to community growth reflect10 the values of the City of Grayson; and11 WHEREAS, during her tenure, she has worked to responsibly develop Grayson through her12 leadership, experience, and love for the city, ensuring that it continues to support local13 families and maintain its unique qualities; and14 S. R. 992 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3952 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high15 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom16 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved17 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and18 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for19 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and20 WHEREAS, Rochelle Wright has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and21 unyielding commitment to excellence have set the standard for public service; and22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25 recognize and commend Rochelle Wright for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated26 public service to the City of Grayson and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued27 health and happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Rochelle Wright.30 S.
