26 LC 112 3963 House Resolution 1771 By: Representatives Greene of the 154th, Mathiak of the 82nd, Townsend of the 179th, Jones of the 47th, and Yearta of the 152nd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Patricia Goodman upon her receipt of a L i f e t i m e1 Achievement Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Patricia Goodman has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced7 dramatically by her superlative service with Randolph County; and8 WHEREAS, upon moving back to Cuthbert, Georgia, with her husband, Gerry, and children,9 Robert and AnnMarie, in 1973, she began working for the Randolph County School System;10 and 11 WHEREAS, she retired from the Randolph County School System in 2007 after 34 years of12 dedicated service; and 13 H. R. 1771 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3963 WHEREAS, following her retirement, she began working for the Randolph County Chamber14 of Commerce where she served with honor and distinction until 2018; and 15 WHEREAS, she further supports her community on the following boards and organizations:16 Andrew College board, Southwest Ga STEM Charter board, Rotary Club (Past President),17 Keep Randolph Beautiful (Chair), We Love Cuthbert, Camellia Gar den Club, Randolph18 CARES, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Cuthbert Unite d Methodist Church ,19 Randolph County Historical Society , and the Welcome Center Committee; and20 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high21 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom22 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved23 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Patricia Goodman for her efficient,28 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her29 upon receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award; and extend the most sincere best wishes for30 continued health and happiness.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to33 Patricia Goodman.34 H.
