26 LC 129 1375 House Resolution 1769 By: Representatives Williamson of the 112th, Burns of the 159th, Parsons of the 44th, Thomas of the 21st, Leverett of the 123rd, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Kevin F. Curtin upon his retirement; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Kevin F. Curtin serves as the Senior Vice President of Government Relations2 for Georgia EMC, representing Georgia's 41 electric membership cooperatives and will retire3 in July 2026 after over 30 years of experience in government relations; and 4 WHEREAS, Kevin began his government relations career in 1993, serving as Chief of Staff5 to former Insurance Commissioner Tim Ryles before holding roles with Blue Cross & Blue6 Shield of Georgia, the Alliance of American Insurers, the Georg ia Association of Health7 Plans, and AT&T; and 8 WHEREAS, Kevin spent over 22 years with AT&T rising to Assistan t Vice President of9 Legislative Affairs and shepherding the passage of numerous significant pieces of legislation10 impacting the telecom industry; and 11 WHEREAS, in 2021, he joined Georgia EMC as Senior Vice Presiden t of Government12 Relations leading efforts to ensure that Georgia maintains soun d energy policies and13 shepherding the passage of legislation aimed at protecting the state's utility infrastructure and14 the men and women that work to maintain them; and15 H. R. 1769 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1375 WHEREAS, Kevin is an active member of the Executive Committee of the board of directors16 of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, where he has also held positions as the chair of the17 Chamber's Political Affairs Council, chairman of the Chamber's Government Affairs Council18 and chairman of the Technology Association of Georgia's Governm ental Relations Task19 Force; and 20 WHEREAS, Kevin in is a graduate of Leadership Savannah's Class of 2002, Leadership21 Georgia's Class of 2003, and earned a spot on Georgia Trend Magazine's list of "40 Under22 40" in 2003; and 23 WHEREAS, Kevin Curtin earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia's Terry24 College of Business and a master's degree from Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson25 College of Business; and 26 WHEREAS, Kevin is married to Julie Curtin and has two daughters Meaghan and Hannah;27 and 28 WHEREAS, Kevin is a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan who exemplifies C oach Kirby Smart's29 philosophy that you are "either elite or not"; and30 WHEREAS, it is most fitting and proper that Kevin Curtin be rec ognized for his effective31 and dedicated service to the people and business industry of the State of Georgia. 32 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that33 the members of this body recognize and commend Kevin F. Curtin for his exemplary service34 to the state of Georgia, congratulate him upon the grand occasi on of his retirement, and35 extend best wishes for continued health and happiness.36 H.
