26 LC 112 3953 Senate Resolution 993 By: Senators Merritt of the 9th, Rahman of the 5th, Anderson of the 43rd and Harrell of the 40th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Laura Barrett Drake; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Laura Barrett Drake has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable2 hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state, as3 evidenced dramatically by her 18 years of superlative service a s director of the Southeast4 Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry; and5 WHEREAS, as a result of her exemplary leadership, the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative6 Ministry has become a vital resource for families in need throu ghout the Grayson and7 Loganville areas; and8 WHEREAS, the organization has provided essential food assistance and support services to9 approximately 1,600 individuals per month and distributed roughly 90,000 pounds of food10 monthly to neighbors in need; and11 WHEREAS, Laura Barrett Drake's significant organizational and l eadership talents,12 remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the13 citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admirati on of her colleagues and14 associates; and15 S. R. 993 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3953 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this18 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize and commend Laura Barrett Drake for her efficient, ef fective, unselfish, and21 dedicated service to the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministr y and extend the most22 sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Laura Barrett25 Drake.26 S.
