26 LC 112 3951 House Resolution 1785 By: Representatives Hugley of the 141st, Buckner of the 137th, Reese of the 140th, Smith of the 138th, and Rice of the 139th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Senator Ed Harbison on his outstanding public service; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Senator Ed Harbison has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for3 the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep pe rsonal commitment to the4 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service within the Georgia State Senate; and8 WHEREAS, Senator Ed Harbison's significant organizational and l eadership talents,9 remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the10 citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admirati on of his colleagues and11 associates; and12 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high13 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom14 H. R. 1785 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3951 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved15 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and16 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for17 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and18 WHEREAS, Senator Ed Harbison has served with honor and distinction, and his vision and19 unyielding commitment to the citizens of this state have set the standard for public service;20 and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Senator Ed Harbi son for his efficient,25 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate him26 upon the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for27 continued health and happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to30 Senator Ed Harbison.31 H.
