26 LC 112 4000 House Resolution 1821 By: Representatives Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, and Schofield of the 63rd A RESOLUTION Commending Cassandra Loftlin; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, agriculture remains one of the most vital industries i n the State of Georgia,2 providing nourishment, economic opportunity, and environmental stewardship for3 communities across the state; and4 WHEREAS, women farmers and agricultural leaders play a critical and growing role in5 strengthening local food systems, advancing sustainable farming practices, and improving6 access to healthy food for families throughout Georgia; and7 WHEREAS, Georgia Women in Agriculture continues to uplift and empower women across8 the agricultural sector, bringing together farmers, advocates, and community leaders to9 bridge gaps in farming communities and promote innovation, collaboration, and economic10 growth; and11 WHEREAS, on March 25, 2026, Georgia Women in Agriculture will c elebrate its 9th12 Annual Women in Agriculture Day at the Georgia State Capitol, highlighting the leadership13 and contributions of women who are shaping the future of agriculture across the state; and14 H. R. 1821 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4000 WHEREAS, Cassandra Loftlin is a dedicated community advocate whose work sits at the15 intersection of environmental justice, climate resilience, public health, and food sovereignty,16 demonstrating a steadfast commitment to ensuring that all communities have access to clean17 air, safe water, and healthy food; and18 WHEREAS, as Healthy Communities Coordinator with Savannah Riverkeeper, she advances19 community-driven strategies to address environmental health ris ks while strengthening20 neighborhood resilience to climate impacts, ensuring that working families have a voice in21 environmental and public health decisions that affect their daily lives; and22 WHEREAS, Cassandra Loftlin serves as Board Chair of Fresh Future Farm, where she leads23 initiatives to rebuild community trust, stabilize operations, a nd promote regenerative24 agricultural practices that protect the land while supporting l ong-term economic25 sustainability for farmers and local communities; and26 WHEREAS, she is the Co-Founder of Goodness Gracious Grocery, a cooperative food27 access initiative that has expanded across Georgia, South Carol ina, and North Carolina,28 bringing fresh food access, econom ic opportunity, and cooperati ve ownership models to29 underserved communities; and30 WHEREAS, through her leadership, Cassandra Loftlin continues to champion the31 understanding that good food and regenerative farming are essen tial climate and public32 health infrastructure, ensuring that communities are not merely recipients of services but33 active partners and owners in shaping resilient regional food systems; and34 H. R. 1821 - 2 - 26 LC 112 4000 WHEREAS, her work uniquely blends culinary training, policy engagement, and community35 storytelling to connect local experiences with broader systems change, strengthening food36 sovereignty and empowering communities to build sustainable futures; and37 WHEREAS, Cassandra Loftlin's dedication to agriculture, environmental stewardship, and38 community empowerment makes her an exemplary leader and a powerful voice for women39 in agriculture throughout Georgia and the Southeast.40 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that41 the members of this body commend Cassandra Loftlin for her exce ptional leadership and42 service in advancing regenerative agriculture, environmental ju stice, and equitable food43 systems and extend their sincere appreciation for her continued commitment to improving44 the health and resilience of communities throughout Georgia and beyond.45 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized46 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to47 Cassandra Loftlin.48 H.
