26 LC 112 3775 House Resolution 1811 By: Representatives Momtahan of the 17th, Kelley of the 16th, Gullett of the 19th, Smith of the 18th, New of the 40th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Micah Gravley on his outstanding pub lic service; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Micah Gravley has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3 vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, in November 2012, Micah G ravley was elected to the Geo rgia General6 Assembly as the Representative of House District 67, where he s erved the citizens of7 Paulding and Douglas counties with diligence and care until 2022; and8 WHEREAS, during his tenure in the House of Representatives, he held numerous leadership9 positions, including Deputy Whip, Vice Chairman of the House Majority Caucus, Secretary10 of the Non-Civil Judiciary Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Code Revision Committee;11 and12 WHEREAS, he has earned many accolades and honors in recognition of his exemplary13 legislative and public service, including the Legislator of the Year award and multiple14 Legislative Champion awards from statewide and national organizations; and15 H. R. 1811 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3775 WHEREAS, beyond his service in the Georgia General Assembly, he is a graduate of the16 Hiram Police Dept Citizen's Police Academy and a consistent adv ocate for public safety17 personnel; and18 WHEREAS, Micah Gravley currently serves as a member of the Paulding Wellstar Hospital19 Regional Health Board, maintaining active involvement in civic leadership and community20 service; and21 WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and22 diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have23 earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Micah Gravley for his efficient, effective,28 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of Paulding and Douglas counties and29 the State of Georgia as well as extend best wishes for continued success.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to32 Micah Gravley.33 H.
