26 LC 129 1417 House Resolution 1823 By: Representatives Fleming of the 114th and Crowe of the 118th A RESOLUTION Honoring Linda Hays for her 50 years of service to the Newton County Government; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Linda Hays has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital3 role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal co mmitment to the welfare of4 the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced7 dramatically by her superlative 50 years of service in Newton County; and8 WHEREAS, Linda Hays started her career with Newton County as an employee of the Clerk9 of Courts office in 1976 and was elected Clerk in 1982; and 10 WHEREAS, with over 42 years of service, she is the longest-serv ing elected official in11 Newton's history; and 12 H. R. 1823 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1417 WHEREAS, Linda Hays' significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable13 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of14 this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and15 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high16 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom17 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved18 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and19 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for20 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Linda Hays for her 50 years of efficient,25 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service as part of the Newton County Government26 and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Linda29 Hays. 30 H.
