26 LC 129 1408 House Resolution 1812 By: Representatives Momtahan of the 17th, Gullett of the 19th, Smith of the 18th, New of the 40th, and Kelley of the 16th A RESOLUTION Commending Deputy Brice Richard Mattick; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Deputy Brice Richard Mattick has served with honor and distinction with the2 Paulding County Sheriff's Office since October 2021; and3 WHEREAS, he is an honest and dedicated public servant who striv es for excellence in all4 of his endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and s afety of the citizens of5 Paulding County; and6 WHEREAS, Deputy Mattick proudly participates in many community programs, including7 Paulding Meadows and Cops for Kids; and8 WHEREAS, he is highly regarded by the citizens of his community and by state and local9 government officials as a man of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the administration10 of justice and sound principles of law enforcement; and11 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion12 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his13 duties; and14 H. R. 1812 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1408 WHEREAS, Deputy Mattick's efficient and effective commitment to excellence has been15 recognized by his peers through the many decorations and awards he has received, including16 a Medal of Merit and a Purple Heart; and17 WHEREAS, Deputy Mattick is recognized for his extraordinary cou rage and unwavering18 dedication to service after sustaining a gunshot wound in the line of duty on April 17, 2025;19 and 20 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others, while in the face of imminent21 danger himself, serves as an outstanding example of the courage, selflessness, and bravery22 that represents the highest ideals of law enforcement professionals; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and24 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the25 citizens of this state.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body commend the care, courage, sympathy, a nd selfless dedication28 exhibited by Deputy Brice Richard Mattick in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation29 and express their utmost appreciation for having so purely and truly defined for others the30 meaning of public servant.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to33 Deputy Brice Richard Mattick.34 H.
