26 LC 112 3804 House Resolution 1840 By: Representatives Martin of the 49th and Jones of the 47th A RESOLUTION Congratulating Gene and Dovie Brinson upon their 81st wedding anniversary; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Gene and Dovie Brinson entered into holy matrimony on February 14, 1945,3 in Parker, Indiana, and this year they celebrate the exceptiona l achievement of their 81st4 wedding anniversary; and5 WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding they have de monstrated have6 provided the foundation of success from which their family memb ers have developed and7 flourished, as evidenced by their six wonderful children, 15 magnificent grandchildren, more8 than 20 remarkable great-grandchildren, seven outstanding great -great-grandchildren, and9 three exemplary great-great-great-grandchildren; and10 WHEREAS, Gene and Dovie Brinson possess the vast wisdom which only comes through11 experience and the strength of character which is achieved thro ugh overcoming the many12 challenges of life; and13 WHEREAS, they have remained deeply committed to serving God, loving one another, and14 faithfully investing in their family and community; and15 H. R. 1840 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3804 WHEREAS, kind and generous people, Gene and Dovie Brinson bring joy and happiness to16 their family and to the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing17 them; and18 WHEREAS, they have witnessed a dramatic change in the world ove r the course of their19 lifetimes, and we salute their contributions to its progress th rough their tireless efforts on20 behalf of their community and extended family; and21 WHEREAS, by the example Gene and Dovie Brinson have made of their lives, they make22 this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitt ing and proper that they be23 appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body congratulate Gene and Dovie Brinson upon the grand occasion of26 their 81st wedding anniversary and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health27 and happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Gene30 and Dovie Brinson.31 H.
