26 LC 129 1439 Senate Resolution 1007 By: Senator Davenport of the 17th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Ms. Shennill Gray upon her retiremen t; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Ms. Shennill Gray has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for her3 deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced6 dramatically by her superlative service with the Georgia Crime Victims Compensation7 Program; and8 WHEREAS, for three decades, Ms. Gray has been a steady, caring presence within the9 Georgia Crime Victims Compensation Program, which is housed under the Criminal Justice10 Coordinating Council (CJCC); and11 WHEREAS, during her tenure, she has devoted her professional li fe to walking alongside12 individuals and families coping with the aftermath of violent crime in moments when grief13 is raw, uncertainty looms large, and hope can feel painfully distant; and14 S. R. 1007 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1439 WHEREAS, since 2016, Ms. Gray has served as the supervisor over CJCC's Forensic15 Medical Examination and Forensic Interview programs, which ensure a compassionate and16 trauma-informed response for some of the State of Georgia's most vulnerable victims; and17 WHEREAS, Ms. Gray exemplifies what it means to serve with humility, with heart, and with18 an unshakable belief that government can be a source of support in people's darkest hours;19 and20 WHEREAS, she has served with honor and distinction with the Geo rgia Crime Victims21 Compensation Program, and her compassion, integrity, and unwave ring commitment to22 others will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this24 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize and commend Ms. Shennill Gray for her efficient, effe ctive, unselfish, and27 dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her upon the grand occasion28 of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and29 happiness.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed31 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ms. Shennill Gray.32 S.
