26 LC 112 4018 Senate Resolution 1006 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Jackson of the 41st, Jones II of the 22nd, Wicks of the 34th, Kemp of the 38th and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. upon1 its 50th anniversary; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, this year, the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority3 Inc. proudly celebrates 50 years of dedicated service, sisterhood, and community impact in4 DeKalb County, Georgia, and its surrounding cities; and5 WHEREAS, since its chartering in 1976, the chapter has remained committed to the mission6 of service to all mankind, implementing programs that promote education, health awareness,7 economic empowerment, and social justice; and8 WHEREAS, the members of the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter have m ade significant9 contributions to the residents of DeKalb County, Georgia, throu gh scholarships, youth10 mentoring, community outreach initiatives, and partnerships wit h civic and nonprofit11 organizations; and12 WHEREAS, over the past 50 years, the chapter has served as a be acon of leadership,13 volunteerism, and advocacy, uplifting families and strengthening communities throughout14 DeKalb County, Georgia, and neighboring municipalities; and15 S. R. 1006 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4018 WHEREAS, the chapter continues to uphold the legacy and principles of Alpha Kappa Alpha16 Sorority Inc.—the nation's first Greek-letter organization foun ded by African American17 college-educated women—while inspiring future generations of leaders through service and18 scholarship; and19 WHEREAS, the celebration of this Golden Anniversary honors not only the achievements20 of its members but also the enduring impact of 50 years of comm unity commitment and21 excellence.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 commend the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. upon the24 grand occasion of its 50th anniversary as well as extend best wishes for many more years of25 successful service.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Lambda28 Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.29 S.
