26 LC 129 1409 House Resolution 1837 By: Representative Ali of the 106th A RESOLUTION Honoring Dar-E-Abbas Islamic Center; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Dar-e 'Abbas (AS) is an Islamic Shia Center (Imambarga h) located on2 Lawrenceville Highway in Southern Gwinnett County of Metro Atlanta, Georgia; and3 WHEREAS, the name Dar-e 'Abbas means "the Door of Abbas (as)" in the Persian language,4 a reference to the Valiant Muslim Hero Abbas Bin Ali Bin Abu Talib A.S.; and5 WHEREAS, Dar-E-Abbas has long demonstrated its commitment to co mmunity service6 though charitable outreach, supporting initiatives dedicated to the welfare and enrichment7 of the broader community; and8 WHEREAS, Dar-E-Abbas has had the honor of welcoming and hosting numerous world-9 renowned poets and distinguished public figures; and10 WHEREAS, among its dedicated trustees is Saheb-e-Biyaz of Anjum an11 Ghamkhwaran-e-Abbas, Ali Zia Rizvi who has provided exemplary leadership and tireless12 dedication to Dar-E-Abbas; and13 H. R. 1837 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1409 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the remarkable contributions of 14 this extraordinary institution.15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16 the members of this body honor Dar-E-Abbas Islamic Center for its many contributions to17 the State of Georgia.18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized19 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to20 Dar-E-Abbas Islamic Center.21 H.
