26 LC 112 4020 Senate Resolution 1008 By: Senator Strickland of the 42nd A RESOLUTION Commending Rachel Kinsaul, the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year , on being named a1 finalist for the 2026 National Teacher of the Year; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Rachel Kinsaul, an accomplished agricultural science e ducator at Morgan3 County High School, was selected as the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year, earning4 recognition for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and excellence in advancing student5 learning and success; and6 WHEREAS, the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) has named Ms. Kinsaul7 as one of only five finalists for the 2026 National Teacher of the Year, bringing great credit8 to the State of Georgia and its public education system; and9 WHEREAS, throughout her tenure as Georgia Teacher of the Year, Ms. Kinsaul has served10 as a statewide advocate for public education, amplifying educat or voices and promoting11 meaningful, hands-on, career-connected learning for students across the state; and12 WHEREAS, Ms. Kinsaul is distinguished for her ability to connect classroom instruction to13 real world experiences, particularly through agricultural education, project-based learning,14 S. R. 1008 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4020 and leadership development, preparing students to become confident, productive community15 members; and16 WHEREAS, her work has strengthened agricultural education progr ams, expanded17 opportunities for students to engage in authentic problem solvi ng, and inspired countless18 young people to discover their strengths and pursue purposeful futures; and19 WHEREAS, Rachel Kinsaul's exemplary service, her unwavering commitment to Georgia20 students, and her distinguished representation of this state on the national stage reflect the21 highest ideals of the teaching profession.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 commend Rachel Kinsaul for her recognition as the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year and24 for her outstanding achievement in being named a finalist for the 2026 National Teacher of25 the Year as well as extend their sincere best wishes for her continued success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Rachel Kinsaul.28 S.
