A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists on1
its 75th anniversary; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) was founded3
in 1951, and for 75 years, it has advanced the health and well- being of patients through4
excellence in clinical practice, education, advocacy, and research; and5
WHEREAS, ACOG represents more than 62,000 health care professio nals nationwide,6
including 1,727 members in Georgia, who provide essential obstetric and gynecologic care7
to patients across the state; and8
WHEREAS, ACOG and its members in Georgia have championed initia tives to improve9
maternal health, protect the patient-physician relationship, protect access to health care for10
all individuals, and legally protect access to IVF; and11
WHEREAS, ACOG works to create a stronger, more sustainable practice environment for12
obstetrician-gynecologists and their patients; and13

WHEREAS, the 75th anniversary of ACOG offers an opportunity to recognize its historic14
contributions and reaffirm our commitment to advancing the health of patients in Georgia.15
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body16
recognize the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists upon the grand occasion17
of its 75th anniversary and commend its members for their dedication to improving the health18
of patients in the State of Georgia and beyond.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed20
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the American21
College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.22
