26 LC 129 1488 House Resolution 1873 By: Representatives Anderson of the 10th and Gunter of the 8th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Rabun County High School boys basketball team; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Rabun County High School Wildcats boys basketball team has3 demonstrated outstanding athletic excellence, teamwork, discipl ine, and perseverance4 throughout the 2025-2026 season; and5 WHEREAS, the Wildcats completed a historic and memorable season by capturing the6 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class A Division I State Championship, defeating7 Southwest High School of Macon by a score of 52-43 in the championship game; and8 WHEREAS, this victory marks the first boys basketball state championship in the history of9 Rabun County High School and represents a landmark achievement for the school and the10 citizens of Rabun County; and11 WHEREAS, the team's success is a testament to the exceptional leadership and dedication12 of the coaching staff, including David Adcock and Corey Page; and13 H. R. 1873 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1488 WHEREAS, the members of the championship team are: R.J. William son, Graham14 Anderson, Huey Blalock, Landan Bedingfield, Brantley Cavender, R e e d B u r r e l l , C o r d15 Burrell, Khanii Thompson, Colton Crane, Hayes Free, Hazen Morgan, Hayden Cannon, and16 Trace Adcock; and17 WHEREAS, the team was further supported by dedicated managers Evan Woodall, Reeves18 Page, and Cal Burrell, whose contributions played an important role in the team's success;19 and20 WHEREAS, each player, coach, and supporter displayed discipline , resilience, and21 sportsmanship, serving as exemplary representatives of their school, their families, and the22 Rabun County community; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordi nary accomplishments of24 this outstanding group of student-athletes be appropriately recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend the Rabun County High School boys27 basketball team for winning the 2025-2026 GHSA Class A Division I State Championship28 and extend their most sincere congratulations for this historic achievement.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to31 Rabun County High School boys basketball team.32 H.
