26 LC 129 1410 Senate Resolution 1010 By: Senator Strickland of the 42nd A RESOLUTION Recognizing the 52nd Strong Family Reunion; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Strong Family is celebrating its 52nd Family Reunion in Conyers, Georgia,2 on Thursday, July 16, through Sunday, July 19, 2026; and3 WHEREAS, Haywood and Lula Strong resided in Newton County, Geor gia, in the early4 1900s, where they settled in the Alma Community in Covington an d together had 125 children; and6 WHEREAS, the descendants of Haywood and Lula gather every two y ears at reunions to7 honor their heritage and create new and lasting memories for the future, a tradition rooted in8 faith, love, resilience, hard work, and commitment; and9 WHEREAS, from the humble beginnings of Haywood, a farmer, and Lulu, a housewife and10 field worker, their family lineage spans eight generations of professionals, college graduates,11 military officers, and business owners; and12 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the enduring example of family13 commitment, unity, and tradition represented by the 52nd Strong Family Reunion.14 S. R. 1010 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1410 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body15 recognize the 52nd Strong Family Reunion and extend sincere best wishes for many more16 reunions in years to come.17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed18 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Strong Family.19 S.
