26 LC 129 1494 House Resolution 1856 By: Representatives Rhodes of the 124th and Williams of the 148th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Pamela S. Van Scoy; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of Pamela S. Van Scoy on November 24,2 2024; and3 WHEREAS, Pamela S. Van Scoy was born on September 7, 1943, in H arrisville, West4 Virginia, a beloved daughter of Freda Burns Smith and Willard Smith; and5 WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband of 58 years, Doug, and was6 beloved mom, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend to all who knew her; and7 WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Pamela was an activ e member of Isle of8 Palms Methodist Church; and9 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern10 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and unders tanding she demonstrated to11 her family and friends were admired by others; and12 H. R. 1856 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1494 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation13 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,14 she made this world a better place in which to live; and15 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Pamela will long be remembered for her16 love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great17 fortune of knowing her.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Pamela S. Van Scoy and20 express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the23 family of Pamela S.
