26 LC 112 3998 Senate Resolution 1014 By: Senators Harbison of the 15th, Orrock of the 36th, Anderson of the 43rd, Davenport of the 17th, Wicks of the 34th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Jaylan King; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Jaylan King began his exemplary broadcasting career at PMB Broadcasting,2 where he developed his skills from the ground up and establishe d a strong foundation in3 radio and media production; and4 WHEREAS, over the course of more than 15 years behind the mic, he has contributed to the5 growth and success of multiple stations, including helping to build 106.9 Rocks and Classic6 Hip Hop 106.5, where he took on his first overnight shift; and7 WHEREAS, through his current role as the afternoon drive announcer on WBFA FM 98.3,8 Jaylan King has become a recognizable and trusted voice in Columbus, Georgia, engaging9 audiences through his dynamic presence and connection with listeners; and10 WHEREAS, his excellence in broadcasting has been recognized thr ough the African11 American Broadcaster Radio Legends Award, becoming the youngest recipient in the award's12 history; and13 S. R. 1014 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3998 WHEREAS, in addition to his work on air, he has demonstrated skill as an audio producer,14 author, songwriter, and music producer, contributing to the broader media and entertainment15 landscape through both creative and technical expertise; and16 WHEREAS, Jaylan King further serves as the founder of Where It Comes From LLC, a17 multimedia production and marketing company that supports brand development and content18 creation; and19 WHEREAS, he continues to advance his professional knowledge by pursuing studies in20 Entertainment Business at SAE Institute Atlanta, further strengthening his expertise within21 the industry; and22 WHEREAS, through his sustained contributions to broadcasting, m edia, and23 entrepreneurship, Jaylan King has established himself as a resp ected professional whose24 work continues to influence and elevate the field.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize and commend Jaylan King for his achievements in broadcasting and media as well27 as extend their best wishes for continued success.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jaylan King.30 S.
