26 LC 112 4007 House Resolution 1848 By: Representative Gilliard of the 162nd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Marc David Dunston; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Marc David Dunston, known professionally as Magic Marc , is a talented2 entertainer and educator who has performed for celebrities such as Denzel Washington,3 Spike Lee, Adam Sandler, and Oprah Winfrey; and4 WHEREAS, through hosting The Magic Marc Show and the Magication program, Marc5 David Dunston has produced countless hours of family-oriented c ontent that features6 interactive magic demonstrations, animals, and important lessons about literacy, kindness,7 and more; and8 WHEREAS, he has further dedicated much of his time and energy toward his community,9 serving as a past or current board member of Greenbriar Home, Safe Shelter, and the Frank10 Callen Boys and Girls Clubs as well as president of Unity Church; and11 WHEREAS, he additionally serves as the first Black president in the 100-year history of the12 Exchange Club of Savannah, board member of the Old Savannah City Mission, and president13 of Just Social Solutions; and14 H. R. 1848 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4007 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high15 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom16 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved17 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and18 WHEREAS, Marc David Dunston is a person of magnanimous strength s with an19 unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately honored.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Marc David Dunst on for his many24 exceptional contributions and career accomplishments as well as extend the most sincere best25 wishes for continued health and happiness.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Marc28 David Dunston.29 H.
