26 LC 129 1477 Senate Resolution 1015 By: Senators Harbison of the 15th, Orrock of the 36th, Anderson of the 43rd, Davenport of the 17th, Wicks of the 34th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and honoring Evangelist Amanda K. Grooms for her ou tstanding service,1 ministry, and commitment to her community; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Evangelist Amanda K. Grooms is a woman of strong faith , dedication, and3 service, who has devoted her life to uplifting others through m inistry, education, and4 community outreach; and5 WHEREAS, she is the cherished daughter of Mrs. Mary Katherine Kimbrough and the late6 Mr. Roosevelt Kimbrough, and the loving wife of Reverend Jesse L. Grooms; and7 WHEREAS, she is a devoted mother to Ashley L. Lyles, DeJuan Mitchell, and the late Gary8 R. Williams, and a proud and loving grandmother to Jacobi Hunt, Jacorion Williams, Janiyah9 Williams, and Aysen Lyles, who are truly the joys of her heart; and10 WHEREAS, Evangelist Grooms faithfully answered her call to ministry at Colbert African11 Methodist Episcopal Church in Seale, Alabama, where she began her spiritual journey as a12 licensed Evangelist, demonstrating unwavering commitment to spr eading the Gospel and13 serving others; and14 S. R. 1015 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1477 WHEREAS, she continues to serve as the appointed President of t he Northeast Alabama15 Conference Minister Spouses, Widows and Widowers Organization, along with PK's for the16 Phenix City, Alabama District Conference, providing leadership, encouragement, and17 support to families in ministry; and18 WHEREAS, Evangelist Grooms dedicated 24 years of faithful servi ce to the Muscogee19 County School District as a paraprofessional, positively impact ing the lives of countless20 students before retiring in 2011; and21 WHEREAS, in 2018, she founded Women of Destiny Outreach Ministr ies, a nonprofit22 organization committed to serving the community and raising awareness for breast cancer23 and all cancer-related causes under the theme, "We're All In This Fight Together-All Cancer24 Matters," inspiring hope, unity, and compassion; and25 WHEREAS, her life and work are guided by her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13, "I can26 do all things through Christ who strengthens me," which she exemplifies daily through her27 faith, leadership, and service; and28 WHEREAS, Evangelist Amanda K. Grooms is widely respected for her tireless dedication,29 servant leadership, and steadfast faith, and she continues to b e a shining example to her30 family, church, and community.31 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body32 commend and honor Evangelist Amanda K. Grooms for her many years of faithful service,33 her outstanding contributions to ministry and community, and he r enduring legacy of34 compassion and leadership.35 S. R. 1015 - 2 - 26 LC 129 1477 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed36 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Evangelist37 Amanda K.
