A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Pamela Perdue Thompson for her outst anding service,1
generosity, and dedication to the citizens and communities of Clayton County; and for other2
purposes.3
WHEREAS, communities are strengthened by individuals whose gene rosity, compassion,4
and dedication uplift others and foster unity among neighbors; and5
WHEREAS, Pamela Perdue Thompson has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to6
family, community service, and fellowship, making a lasting impact on the lives of residents7
in Clayton County and beyond; and8
WHEREAS, Pamela Perdue Thompson faithfully visited Clayton Coun ty each summer to9
spend time with her family and maintain strong ties to the comm unity, reinforcing the10
importance of family connections and community bonds; and11
WHEREAS, together with her husband, Ray, Pamela established a restaurant whose name12
honors the legacy of their mothers, combining Pam's mother's first name and Ray's mother's13
first name, creating not only a business but also a tribute to family heritage and values; and14

WHEREAS, the restaurant has become a welcoming gathering place where members of local15
churches regularly stop by following Sunday services and where people from every walk of16
life are served with warmth, hospitality, and respect, reflecti ng the spirit of community17
fellowship that defines Clayton County; and18
WHEREAS, since 2019, Pamela and Ray have demonstrated extraordi nary generosity by19
catering the Oakwood Trails Neighborhood Watch (OTNHW) Annual B ack-N-School20
Back2Basics Block Party at no cost, preparing southern-style so ul food as a special21
appreciation meal for the dedicated members of Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services,22
the Clayton County Police Department, and the Clayton County Sh eriff's Office, with the23
neighborhood only responsible for the cost of ingredients; and24
WHEREAS, this annual community event provides an important oppo rtunity for law25
enforcement, public safety officials, and residents to come tog ether in a positive,26
non-emergency environment, allowing them to fellowship, build r elationships, and27
strengthen trust between the community and those who serve and protect it; and28
WHEREAS, Pamela and Ray have further demonstrated their compassion by preparing fresh,29
hot meals for individuals seeking re fuge at the temporary homel ess shelter opened at the30
Clayton County Police Headquarters during inclement weather, ensuring that those in need31
are met with dignity and care; and32
WHEREAS, they have consistently shown kindness and humanity by providing free meals33
to individuals experiencing homelessness or those unable to aff ord a meal but who arrive34
hungry, embodying the belief that no person in the community should go without food; and35

WHEREAS, Pamela Perdue Thompson's dedication to service, generosity, and community36
engagement exemplifies the values of compassion, fellowship, and civic responsibility that37
strengthen Clayton County and the State of Georgia.38
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that39
the members of this body recognize and commend Pamela Perdue Th ompson for her40
outstanding commitment to community service, her support of public safety professionals,41
and her tireless efforts to ensure that neighbors in need are fed and cared for.42
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized43
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to44
Pamela Perdue Thompson.45
